Categories of Personal Information Processed
To be considered to attend Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies, students, along with their parents or legal guardians if minors, will be required to complete and submit an application through Slate. The following categories of student and parent or legal guardian data may be collected:
Student
Communications - Email exchanges, call notes
Demographic - Address, phone number, date of birth, ethnicity, gender
Identifiable - Name, email address
Parent or Legal Guardian

Financial - Payment information
Identifiable - Name, email address
* If applying for financial aid, parents and legal guardians will be required to use the School and Student Services (SSS) platform and submit financial statements online.
Use of Personal Information
We may use this information for:
- Providing data security (Secure login);
- Evaluating a student as a candidate;
- Payment related purposes;
- Providing personal service such as communications via phone and email;
- Enrollment data;
- Providing access to third-party technical systems used in the classroom;
- Reporting purposes for legal reasons with de-identified aggregate data.
Sharing your Personal Information
Personal information will be shared with Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies staff and specific Stanford offices for applicant evaluation, enrollment, and instructional purposes. We engage the following third parties to process your Personal Information on our behalf to facilitate use of our technical platforms for administrative benefits.
- Salesforce - Ticketing system
- School and Student Services (SSS) - Financial aid applications only
- Slate - Application and payment processing
*If accepted, and enrollment agreement requirements are completed, your personal information will be shared with additional third parties as required to facilitate use of our technical platforms.
Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies does not sell any Personal Information, including Personal Information of minors, to third parties for their use in direct marketing, advertising, or promotion of their products or services.
Our service providers are required to comply with applicable data protection laws and Stanford's data protection standards under the terms of agreement with Stanford University.
Transfer of Personal Information
Your personal information will be transferred to the U.S. and other jurisdictions when necessary to process your application, provide the Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies experience, or other valid purposes, where the laws do not protect your privacy to the same extent as the laws in the country where you reside.
To the extent that we need to transfer your information to the U.S. or other countries, we will do so consistent with applicable law governing such transfers. To support such transfers, we will generally enter into a contract containing certain standard terms to clearly establish the rights and responsibilities of the parties to the transfer.
Data Storage and Retention
The security, integrity, and confidentiality of your information are extremely important to us. Data will be retained in accordance with the U.S. Federal, State, and County laws or to meet organizational needs. See Stanford University Security Standards for our security policies.
