Students will develop their knowledge of environmental science through lectures, field trips, and experimental design. Working through the scientific method, students will acquire the tools to begin to explore and understand the environment on both a local and global scale. This course will explore how human impacts on the environment effect both the land and the ocean and the fundamental processes that occur in the ocean. Conversations will focus on global warming and ocean acidification and how humans are contributing and what technologies are being used to attempt to mitigate these effects.
