In this course, students will be exposed to an essential component of design processes: Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD). Students will gain a foundational understanding of how to apply CADD to create technical drawings and designs. CADD is essential for aspiring engineering majors, architects, designers, or anyone interested in exploring design technology. Students will explore core concepts such as setting up drawing files, creating and manipulating geometric shapes, 2D drawings, and basic 3D modeling techniques. Along the way, students will build a portfolio of work that highlights the drafting skills they developed throughout the course. Whether students desire a career in engineering, architecture, or design—or are simply curious about these fields—this course will equip them with essential skills needed to get started.
