Finance and banking play a vital role in how money flows and grows within the global economy. This course explores how people, businesses, and governments use financial systems to save, invest, and manage risks. Students are introduced to the fundamental concepts in finance such as the tenets of investing, the function of financial markets, and the role of banks. By the end of this course, students will have developed the tools to think critically about banking, investments, interest rates, and risk management. Through selected readings, class discussions, and team-based activities, students will develop the skills and confidence to analyze and make decisions in real-world financial scenarios. This course is designed for students interested in financial literacy, investing, and future careers or study in finance.

Session One
*The course will meet for two hours daily (Monday–Friday) for a live online class during this window of time. The third hour is used for online office hours. Students will be admitted to and attend just one course section and time. The exact course time and office hour schedule will be set closer to the start of the program.
